The 4 Best Cat Brushes

I have two Persian breed cats Lily & Cocoa, and if you know cats you know that Persians get matted and get many knots.  You have to brush them regularly to stop their fur from matting.  My cats are not always happy about being brushed but I have managed to find a few cat brushes that they will tolerate.

If you have ever been to a pet store or searched online for a cat brush, you likely have been overwhelmed at all the choices available to you. While most cats spend a great deal of time grooming themselves, they still require a bit of help every now and then. Here are some of the best cat brushes on the market, so you can find the one that is right for your cat.

Slicker brush

A slicker brush is designed to brush out loose or dead hair as well as debris and dander from your cat’s fur. These brushes are lightweight and ergonomically designed so you can groom your cat with ease. One of the popular slicker cat brushes is the Miracle Coat Cat Slicker Brush.

Matbreaker

A matbreaker is made to brush out the mats and tangles from your cat’s long coat, without messing up the rest of their beautiful fur. Instead of teeth like some other cat brushes have, matbreakers feature long blades. The neat thing about matbreakers is that they have blades that are reversible, so they can be used by those who are right-handed or left-handed. One of the popular cat matbreaker is the Le Salon Essentials Cat Mat Breaker.

Dual-sided brush

A dual-sided brush is designed to untangle the mats and snarls from your cat’s fur and also releases the natural oils in their fur. These brushes feature a fine-tooth brush on one side and soft bristles on the opposite side. One of the popular cat dual-sided brushes is the Miracle Coat Double Sided Cat Brush.

Mitt brush

A mitt brush is made from rubber (or vinyl) and are shaped like winter mittens. The way you use them is you wear the mitt brush like a mitten and brush your cat. It is that easy! They are made to brush your cat while petting them at the same time. One of the popular cat mitt brushes is the Four Paws Magic Coat Love Glove Cat Grooming Mitt.

Yes I am totally overwhelmed by the things available for pets in general. What people say about having pets being similar to having a baby is surely true.

This is very helpful especially to those who have cats, we do like animals but we prefer no pets at home, unless they are small and not hairy.

I am not a generally cat person but I did have cats while growing up, and they get along well with our dogs. That kitty brush looks nice because it has small rounded bristles so as not to hurt the skin of the kitty. Looks like my doggie’s paddle brush too but only smaller.
