Best Things About Abyssinian Cats

Abyssinian cats are nicknamed Aby, for short. These short-haired cats are smart, active and playful. This cat breed was first bred in the United States in 1935. Here are some of the best things about Abyssinian cats.

They are intelligent- Abyssinian cats love nothing more to play, but an ordinary cat toy won’t do for this cat. Because of the fact they are intelligent, they have the ability to learn tricks that other cats cannot. They love toys and activities that are challenging like puzzle cat toys and agility courses.

They have a sense of humor- Yes, Abyssinian cats can be funny characters at times. There are some people who refer to these cats as “Aby-silly-an,” and for very good reason. These cats always seem to be right smack in the middle of things and it is not uncommon for them to relax in a newly-filled bathtub or hide the clothing of their human family members.

They are active- These cats are not lap cats by any means. They love to be active and on the go constantly. Their favorite things to do are climb, jump and explore. When they are left unattended for long periods of time, they tend to get bored and start causing a bit of mischief around the house. Also, these cats love heights and can jump several feet up in the air. So, naturally, they love to climb trees outside and shelves, cabinets, counters and tables inside.
